<< Back to Eco FAGOR PORTABLE INDUCTION COOKTOP
  • Save time, save energy and enjoy cooking more.

Induction cooking is based on a series of coils generating magnetic
fields that induct a warming reaction when in contact with steel or iron bottom-based cookware, and produce heat up to 50% faster than a gas
or electric stove!

Since the generated heat comes from contact between the cooktop and the bottom of the pan, heating is uniform rather than having hot spots as is typical of ringed heat, such as a ring of flames on a gas stove or rings of heated electric coils. An added benefit, you remain cool while cooking since only 10% of the heat radiates beyond the pan. No more sauna in the kitchen!

For years I've searched for a portable induction cooktop that was affordable and offered high-watt conductivity as an energy-efficient alternative to other heat sources for cooking. Fagor makes a sleek portable 1300-watt induction cooktop, 12" wide x 14" long x 2 5/8" high, with a 8 1/2" diameter cooking area, wide enough for large pans.

Lightweight with a flat, smooth, heat-resistant glass cooking surface, it is so easy-to-clean. A touch control panel offers 6 different levels of cooking power plus timer. Simply plug-in the electrical cord to begin the fan cooling the induction coils and place your pan on top. Tap the designated "Start" button and you can melt chocolate, simmer a braised dish, stir-fry, fry bacon or boil pasta, and you'll do so in less time than it takes using a traditional gas or electric stove. That means you have more time to relax and enjoy your homemade meal.

There are no open flames or hot coils exposed, so it is safe to use around children, and if you tend to burn yourself when cooking, induction cooking may be the solution! There is even a "Child Lock" button for additional security.

Fagor's portable induction cooktop is easy to use outdoors or indoors, anywhere you have a standard electrical outlet. All you need is cookware with iron content, such as stainless steel or cast-iron on the bottom. (If you're not sure about your cookware's metal content, it's very easy to determine. Simply take a magnet, a refrigerator magnet will do nicely, and if it sticks to the bottom of your cookware, it's induction compatible.)

Induction cooking is eco-friendly and efficient using 90% of the energy produced because the cookware heats the food, not the stove heating the food as in other heat sources. Consider induction heat for outdoor cooking on a portable cooktop, a buffet and the next time you re-design your kitchen.
